Lehmo: Making It Possible

Lehmo: Making It Possible

Believe it or not, Lehmo started off his professional life as a chartered accountant. For many years -- he says too many -- Lehmo lived his life crunching numbers ... until he found the world of entertainment.

Now he is one of Australia's most experienced, widely traveled -- and busiest -- comedians, entertaining the nation on radio and TV. Lehmo hosts the Gold 104.3 breakfast show in Melbourne with Brigitte Duclos; as well as being a panelist on the popular Network 10 AFL show Before the Game and a regular on The Project.

Aside from regularly headlining the top venues in Australia, Lehmo's extraordinary knack of making people laugh has seen him jet around the world to excite audiences in New York, London, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

In case you didn't know, Lehmo is the world record holder for the most jokes told in one hour (true story!) But even a comedian with that prestigious title knows that factory farming is no joke.

When you tell people that chickens raised for meat have been selectively bred so that they reach slaughter weight at just five weeks of age — the response from many is "You must be joking!" Sorry — but it's a true and tragic story. And it isn't a joking matter for the poor chooks who grow so quickly that their legs can't cope and walking becomes difficult and painful.

Lehmo was brought up on a farm in South Australia so he understands the responsibilities that we have to animals in our care — and is passionate about it. Now living and working in Melbourne, animals have become cherished family members who bring joy into his daily life.

Lehmo is encouraging other Australians to take the Make it Possible pledge so that the simple joys of life can be restored to animals who endure lives of misery in factory farms.

Watch the extended Make it Possible web video, featuring Lehmo and other Australian celebrities.
